Our Caregiver Support Group was created for caregivers of trans, non-binary, and questioning youth (ages 5-18) to get support from their peers and our Youth and Family Services team.
Each round of our Caregiver Support Group lasts 6 weeks and meets weekly.
Our Caregiver Support Group has wrapped up for 2024. Keep a lookout for our next sessions in 2025!
FAQS
What can I expect when i attend a caregiver support group?
You will meet other caregivers going through similar situations so you can connect, problem-solve and share resources. A licensed counselor will be leading the group to give information and help group members make connections so you can continue to build your community after group is done.
WHO IS THIS SUPPORT GROUP FOR?
Our Caregiver Support Group is for any parent, guardian, or caregiver of a trans, non-binary, and/or questioning youth, who is between the ages of 5-18. Participants must reside in Texas.
If i can’t make it all 6-weeks, can i still sign-up?
Caregivers who attend more sessions reported getting more from the group, so we highly recommend attending all sessions. We know that sometimes unexpected things come up and you might need to miss a session.
Can I sign-up anonymously?
Yes! The comfort and safety of you and your family is of utmost importance. You can use a pseudonym for registration if it makes you more comfortable. The information you share on the registration form does not get shared outside of our Youth and Family Services team.
I registered for the caregiver support group and haven’t RECEIVED a response. when can i expect to hear back?
We are a small team and most likely have received a lot of inquiries and registrations. We appreciate your patience! A staff member will reach out to you after the registration deadline.
Caregiver Support Groups are ongoing and we have multiple over the course of the year. If you have signed up when a group is already in progress, we will reach out when the next group is starting up.
