Out Youth is engaged in a continuous process of examining the ways we have perpetuated anti-Blackness and other forms of racism as a non-profit organization. Our ongoing work related to becoming an anti-racist organization includes the following:
Out Youth Anti-Racist Practices
As an organization committed to becoming anti-racist, Out Youth developed practices to purposefully identify, discuss, and challenge racial discrimination and the impact discrimination has on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)* within our organization and in our larger community. This is a living document. View the current practices HERE.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Out Youth seeks to partner with other Central Texas organizations that serve the LGBTQIA+ community and work for racial justice. We seek to build organic partnerships through connections with individuals associated with these organizations. To learn more about partnering with Out Youth, contact Emily Heroux (she/they) via emily.heroux@outyouth.org.

We do our best to stay up to date and keep our site up to date but want to own any instances where non-affirming or out-of-date language may occur. While it is not your job to educate us or anyone, if you would like to let us know about your experience please send an email to hello@outyouth.org, we are very grateful for your feedback, effort, and input.
Organizational Assessment
Out Youth is in the process of conducting a comprehensive assessment of our organization from an equity perspective, inspired by the City of Austin’s Equity Assessment Tool. As part of this process, we are also developing a system by which staff, volunteers, and the community can provide feedback when we compromise our commitment to anti-racist work.
