Volunteer Opportunities
There are a great many opportunities to become a part of the Out Youth Family, and new volunteer opportunities come up all the time.
Chief among volunteer opportunities is the position of volunteer coordinator. While this has worked well as a team effort in the past, it is now time to ask one person to lead the charge. We could use help training, maintaining and recognizing the work of our volunteers.
Out Youth also has a significant and constant need for certified American Sign Language interpreters and Spanish-English interpreters and translators.
In addition to staffing the Drop-in Center, volunteers are needed to work on a variety of projects, including mowing the lawn, weeding the garden, cleaning the house, entering data, staffing promotional tables at community events, serving on committees, organizing fundraisers and much more.
A volunteer has a greater likelihood of success at Out Youth if they bring initiative, patience and a sense of humor. And because volunteer opportunities occasionally arise with little warning, it is important for volunteers to stay in touch through email or the Out Youth Facebook page.
