Out Youth offers free individual counseling and in-school counseling to youth 1 between the ages of 12 and 19.
Individual Counseling at a Glance:
- Call 512.419.1233 to schedule an appointment or sign up the next time you visit Out Youth
- Weekly 50-minute sessions with an assigned therapist 2
- Usually lasts three to six months, but varies according to need
- Age-out at 20
In-School Counseling at a Glance:
- Offered during the calendar school year
- In-school support groups meet weekly for 50 minutes
- In-school individual counseling sessions meet weekly for 50 minutes
- Contact your school’s guidance counselor if you would like Out Youth to provide counseling services at your school

1 Family members and partners of youth cannot receive individual counseling, but can be a part of family and/or couples’ therapy that includes a youth who is currently involved in Out Youth.
2 Youth therapy clients meet with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPC-I), or a Social Work Intern. All interns are in graduate school working toward Master’s Degrees in Social Work or Professional Counseling and receive ongoing clinical supervision to ensure that youth receive high-quality therapeutic services.
