The programs and services Out Youth provides to LGBTQIA youth would not be possible without the financial support of our network of individual donors, business partners, and grantors.

We gratefully accept both one-time donations and sustaining (monthly, quarterly, annual) donations from individuals. We also are in need of ongoing support from local and national businesses through in-kind donations and financial contributions. And we rely on foundation grants to pilot new and exciting programs to help LGBTQIA youth develop into happy, healthy, and successful adults.

Reasons to Support Out Youth

• Out Youth is the only continuing source of social, emotional and mental health support for the growing number of LGBTQIA youth and young adults and their straight-identified allies, 12 to 19 years of age, in Austin and Central Texas
• According to the 2006-2008 American Community Survey Three-Year Estimates by the U.S. Census Bureau, the Austin-Round Rock MSA, which comprises the heart of Out Youth’s direct service population in Central Texas, is home to an estimated 110,000 youth 12 to 19 years old. As many as 11,000 of these middle and high school students and college freshmen are lesbian, gay, or bisexual youth, and many thousands more are uncertain of or questioning their gender identity
• There is an increase in demand for Out Youth program activities, outreach, community education and safe-school efforts
• There is an increase in demand across the state of Texas for technical assistance and support from Out Youth’s Texas GSA Network Program to form and maintain gay/straight alliance groups (GSAs) for LGBTQ youth in middle schools and high schools. GSAs in schools are a safety net for LGBTQIA youth and their allies. GSAs help to address school policies to prevent bullying and address the stigmatization of and discrimination against LGBTQIA youth in Texas schools statewide
• All Out Youth programs and services are free, including counseling and support services to youth at the Center and in schools
