Out Youth Welcomes Keisha Martinez, LPC-S
as Its New Clinical Director

A photo of Keisha Martinez, Clinical DirectorAUSTIN, TEXAS – Out Youth is pleased to announce the hiring of Keisha Martinez, LPC-S (Licenced Professional Counselor Supervisor), as its new Clinical Director.

Martinez will be taking over the position from Monrovia Van Hoose, LCSW (Licenced Clinical Social Worker), who will be launching her full-time private practice as part of Transformations Psychotherapy.

“While we are sad that Monrovia is leaving us, we are thankful that she has helped us select such an outstanding candidate to continue the important clinical support function of Out Youth,” explained Aubrey Wilkerson, Executive Director.

The Clinical Director position oversees the full spectrum of clinical support services at Out Youth including on-site individual and family counseling, in-school support groups, the Knowing Your Status is Smart HIV testing program, and numerous identity support groups.

Martinez was selected for the position because of her demonstrated ability to work with a variety of clients from diverse populations and her experience working with teens, adults, and families. She comes to Out Youth after five years as Senior Counselor with Travis County Juvenile Probation where she worked with teens experiencing identity issues related to race, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and other aspects of teen development.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with Out Youth and supporting the emotional and psychological needs of LGBTQIA youth across Central Texas,” said Martinez.

“I look forward to working with the rest of the Out Youth team to ensure that this remains a safe place where youth can learn, grow, and become comfortable with themselves.”

Martinez will begin at Out Youth on Monday, October 29th, with Van Hoose working in a short-term capacity to ensure a seamless transition of all clients and case files.
