Out Youth Says Farewell to Monrovia Van Hoose, Long-time Clinical Director

A photo of Monrovia Van Hoose, LCSWAUSTIN, TEXAS – There are many sad faces around the Out Youth House this week as long-time Clinical Director Monrovia Van Hoose announces her departure.

“It is, of course, a bittersweet leave-taking,” said Van Hoose. “October marks my four year anniversary at Out Youth, and I will miss this place very much.”

Van Hoose recently received her Licenced Clinical Social Worker certification, and has been hard at work over the past year building her now-thriving private practice (http://monroviavanhoose.com) as part of Transformations Psychotherapy (http://katykoonce.com).

“We have been planning this transition for a long time,” Van Hoose explained. “I have always wanted to run my own private practice, and I am very grateful for the learning and growth opportunities I have had at Out Youth.”

Van Hoose will continue in her role at Out Youth until Sunday, October 28, and will be an integral part of the search committee for her replacement.

“Mental health support services have always been at the heart of our mission,” said Aubrey Wilkerson, Out Youth’s Executive Director. “Under Monrovia’s direction we’ve been able to expand our individual counseling, family counseling, and support groups in many schools across Central Texas. It only makes sense that she should help us identify our next Clinical Director.”

The full job descption for the Clinical Director position can be found at Out Youth’s website (http://outyouth.org/jobs/).

As she continues to prepare to prepare for her departure, Van Hoose had the following message to everyone at Out Youth, the youth in particular:

“Thank you so much for your support, guidance, teamwork, laughter and tears. This has truly been a life changing experience.”

A farewell party is being planned and the community is encouraged to check the Out Youth website and Facebook (http://facebook.com/outyouth/) for further details.
